About UsStory Nature Press publishes internationally and domestically themed (waterfall) travel guidebooks. The company sprang from our deep desire – as the founders – to share with the world experiences we had in nature. Our goal is to enrich your life by bringing the world’s natural beauty to you. Our hope is that by experiencing nature firsthand, you will care for our natural resources and want to protect them.Our interest in developing nature-themed travel guides grew from experiences we had when my wife began taking me to local waterfalls in the Los Angeles area. It was a means of getting away from the stress of my job and graduate school. Surprising both of us, a wish to see a few modestly-sized waterfalls quickly resulted in an addicting desire to see as many waterfalls as we could together. Soon local trips to places such as the Santa Monica Mountains, Angeles National Forest, and the San Bernardino Mountains became replaced with road trips to the mountains and coasts of Central and Northern California, as well as the deserts and canyons of Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. However, we didn’t stop there. Our trips expanded to Yellowstone National Park, the Cascades in the Pacific Northwest, and Hawai’i. Yet eventually even these places started to feel “local.” Soon we endeavored to collect waterfall sightings in destinations around the world, including New Zealand, Norway, Australia, and the South Pacific – among others. Having now experienced hundreds of waterfalls, we are eager to share our excitement about them – as well as our travel knowledge – through the Story Nature guides. Our full-color Story Nature books offer dramatic photographs, informative maps, organized and interesting text, and excursion ratings. Such features allow our guidebooks to serve as trip planners, travel companions, keepsakes, as well as gifts for those people left back home.
